Bromley Council has announced that the refurbishment works to the Walnuts Leisure Centre will be pushed back. This was announced alongside a £300,000 grant for leisure centres in Bromley, however disappointingly, this will not be spent on Orpington.
Bromley Liberal Democrats' alternative Budget focussed on reducing the amount of money the Council spent on refurbishing the new Civic Centre and using unexpected funds from central government towards protecting the most vulnerable.
Planning permission for the proposed development has been refused by Bromley Council, with reasons including the inappropriate size, overdevelopment of the site and the lack of affordable units
The Lib Dems denounce Bromley Council's decision to cut £250,000 from the Bromley Youth Support Programme - "we should be prioritising our young people, not cutting back on them”.
The new Superloop bus service SL5 that runs between Bromley North to Central Croydon was rolled out on Saturday 3rd February. There will be four services an hour, with five in the morning peak.
