Tubbenden Lane in Orpington and the surrounding area seems to have a particular problem with speeding cars. Local residents have told us of their concern about the danger to pedestrians and other road users. Exiting from some of the minor roads is becoming more and more dangerous, pedestrians struggle to cross and during school time the parking of some cars makes visibility difficult.
Results from our recent survey indicated that you believe that action should be taken to make the area safer for road users, pedestrians and cyclists. Over half of respondents were in favour of introducing a 20 mph zone. Many residents have also commented on the poor standard of parking when parents take or retrieve their children from the local schools and the impact this has on traffic congestion in the area.
