Play Streets

We are calling on Bromley Council to adopt a formal "play streets" policy in the Borough allowing parent groups to close their street to traffic up to once a month to allow children to "play out". The schemes will be community led and entirely run by parent volunteers. It is outrageous that the current Council thinks it appropriate to charge £562 to such parent groups when neighbouring boroughs successfully run such schemes and even provide staff to support the scheme. In fact Bromley is one of only 4 London Borough's to not have or be pursuing a Play Street scheme.
