Michael Hall has lived in Orpington for 30 years and was an elected Liberal Democrat Councillor from 1994 to 2002. He lives in Charterhouse Road and is an active member of Orpington Liberal Club.
Michael works as a solicitor with a local firm. He is keen to work with local people to see the Council delivers the services we need, call a halt to the decline in standards caused by Tory cuts, protect the green belt and improve health services.
Michael says “Our society has become increasingly unfair under the Tories and Labour. We need more Liberal Democrats in Parliament, as only the Liberal Democrats will tackle corporate greed, restore the economy for the benefit of all citizens, and reverse the damage to the environment”.
Elaine moved to Orpington with her husband 33 years ago and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else! Her two children benefitted from a good education at local schools and with two grandsons now, she takes a keen interest in education issues. She also has experience of working with elderly and vulnerable adults and would endeavour to improve services in this sector.
Over the years, Elaine has been an active member of a local running club, cycling club, amateur dramatic society and local history society. Currently Elaine is building on her interest in athletics by training as a field judge with Blackheath and Bromley Harriers Athletics Club. She and her husband also keep bees and are both very keen on protecting the environment in and around Orpington.
