Military veterans entitled to official badge

Veteran's Badge

Are you a military veteran or in receipt of a war widow's or War Widower's pension?

If so did you know you are entitled to an official armed forces veterans badge?

The badge was first introduced in 2004 by the then Government and is available free of charge for anyone who served in the Army, the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the Royal Air Force or volunteer and regular reserve forces. There are separate veterans badges available for those who served as Bevin Boys or in the Women's Land Army or Women's Timber Corps.

We are keen to inform as many eligible residents as possible about this so they can take up the offer - so please do spread the word.

Please do get in touch with us by email and we will pass on the form so you can apply for your veterans badge - [email protected] or write to us at Bromley Liberal Democrats, 7 Station Road, Orpington, BR6 0RZ

Village Way petition passes 2,700 signatures!

The petition for a safe crossing on Village Way has now passed 2,700 signatures, with a huge boost received over the last few days as a result of a video filmed by a concerned parent showing exactly how dangerous it is for children to cross this treacherous road on their way to school. If you haven't seen the video already, you can see it here:

We have made great progress, but cannot rest until a safe crossing is installed, and ask that you continue to share our petition with as many people as possible.

Please note that Bromley Council take account of the views of those who work in the borough, as well as residents, so please do encourage anyone you know who works here (e.g. school teachers and people you know in local High Street businesses) to sign up as well using their organisation’s business address (the Council will be looking for Bromley postcodes).…

Thank you again for your continued support!
