Bromley Lib Dems have published their manifesto for the elections to Bromley Council on 5th May.
Sarah Green MP came to Bromley on Sunday 3rd April to help the local Liberal Democrats launch their manifesto for the elections to Bromley Council on 5th May.
Sarah Green won the historic Chesham & Amersham by-election in June 2021 with a massive 25% swing from the Conservatives. Chesham & Amersham was previously one of the safest seats in the country for the Conservatives and Sarah told the team that if the Lib Dems can win in Chesham & Amersham they can certainly win in Bromley, no matter how secure the Tories feel they are here. Local residents have had enough of being taken for granted.
"With a cost of living crisis underway and the tragic conflict in Ukraine, it can be difficult to focus on local issues. But this election on 5th May is so important. If the Conservatives win here again, they will continue to take your vote for granted."
Dave Marshall, Chair of Bromley Lib Dems, said "If the Conservatives win here in May they will continue to do as little as possible on issues that matter to us, such as our parks, our transport links and our air quality. And they will continue to think that standards in public life don’t matter any more."
The manifesto can be read in full here. It addresses many of the concerns highlighted by Bromley residents including:
- Air Quality
- Safer Roads
- Open Spaces
- Height Limit for High Rises
- Public Transport
- EV Charging
- Waldo Road Recycling Centre
- Beckenham to Blackfriars Trains
- Open Democracy
