Lib Dems tell Sadiq Khan and Tories to stop playing with Londoner's lives

Bromley Liberal Democrats are calling for the Government and Sadiq Khan to put politics aside and ensure that a deal is reached with regards to TfL's future funding.

There are a handful of days left for a financial settlement to be agreed and currently, both parties are holding our transport system to ransom, with threats to close the Bakerloo and Jubilee lines and slash over 100 bus services.
Lib Dem London Assembly Member and Chair of Transport Committee Caroline Pidgeon has raised concern and stated that it is extraordinary that negotiations have not yet started and has told both the Government and Sadiq Khan to put politics aside and to be proud of our city.
When there is already great concern regarding women's safety at night, having these services cut would be another massive blow.
In Bromley Borough, which is heavily reliant on bus services, and which we have put forward proposed improvements, the loss of bus routes and reduction of services would impact the local economy and the livelihoods of those who rely on this.
The future of London is its public transport system and both the Government and Sadiq Khan need to sit down, be mature and negotiate a deal. We believe this is achievable and is needed in order to make London greener and safer.
