Eden Park Avenue is an unsafe road long ignored by the Council. Local families crossing to get to school, station or shops do not have any proper crossing points. The road is notorious for speeding, referred to by locals as a 'racetrack'. The dense parking narrows the road and makes visibility poor at junctions - this is dangerous when faced with cars going too fast.
There are danger points all along the road, and the traffic travels very fast only slowed by parked cars.
We demand the Council review the road safety on this road and consult with local residents.
Notwithstanding dealing with inappropriate speeds, proper crossing points are needed at:
Balmoral Avenue - apart from concerns for residents who live on the road, we worry for children and parents who cross here on their way Marian Vian primary and local nurseries. When Eden Park High School opens next year there will be a lot more children using this route.
Merlin Grove - church-goers and children and parents travelling to school and nursery use this route - it's popular with parents from Unicorn primary, and children at the Langley schools. The cars travel too fast along that part of Eden Park Avenue and the parked cars make it impossible to see what is coming.
