Bromley Borough Liberal Democrats

MESSAGE FROM PPC

Thank you for your support.

Thank you to everyone who fought so hard to help me and the Liberal Democrats to try and represent Beckenham in the House of Commons.

It's been an honour and a privilege to fight the Beckenham seat at the 2010 election.

Coming second with a swing of 3.2% from the Tories is a huge success and I hope we can build on this at the next election.

Stephen Jenkins Left PPC for Beckenham on the campaign trail with the PPC for Bromley Sam Webber and the PPC for Orpington Cllr David McBride

Beckenham means different things to different people. For many, it's a place to lay one's head after a busy working day followed by socialising in London. But for those who are settled and bringing up a family or who have lived here all their lives Beckenham needs to be more than a dormitory. It has to be somewhere where you are proud to say you come from, Beckenham rather than Bromley or Orpington. It has to be safe, clean and offer a level of activity that fits all stages of life. It has to be a community. We need to push for better facilities and not be short changed by Bromley Council. I will lobby for better, safer, local transport and stations, activities for teenagers that they'll enjoy and are right for the community and a variety of shops for Beckenham and local parades.
