Lord Avebury and Ben Abbotts on Bromley High Street

Orpington by-election winner Eric Lubbock has today joined local Liberal Democrat Campaigner Ben Abbotts on the campaign trail in Bromley and Chislehurst.

Eric Lubbock, now Lord Avebury joined Ben meeting local residents in the Bromley & Chislehurst constituency.

Lord Avebury said:

"There are many similarities between my own victory in Orpington in 1962 and today in Bromley & Chislehurst. The Conservatives brought in an outsider in Orpington and here the Conservatives have selected a man from Tower Hamlets in the East End. I was the only local man in Orpington and Ben Abbotts lives in the Bromley Borough.

"Ben Abbotts will be a full time MP for the people of Bromley & Chislehurst."

Local Liberal Democrat Campaigner Ben Abbotts said:

"I am delighted that Lord Avebury has given his support to the campaign.

The Lib Dem campaign is gathering momentum and support across Bromley & Chislehurst, the next twelve days are going to be exciting and interesting to watch."
