Orpington Liberal Democrat Councillor Grace Goodlad has called for an increased Police presence on local rail services following the announcement that Orpington Station has one of the worst records of Crime in London.

Cllr Goodlad said: "With 12,360 crimes on the London Rail network last year, people are increasingly concerned about their safety. Liberal Democrats on the London Assembly have a £20 million plan to put more than 270 police officers on London's rail stations and trains. South Eastern Trains are the worst in London, and 3 of the Borough's Stations feature in the top 20 list for crime in the Capital - Orpington (6th), Bickley (8th) and Bromley South (14th).

"It is time to act to make it safe for local people when travelling. The Lib Dems would slash some of Mayor Livingstone's flagship plans to fund the much needed extra Police"
