Kings Hall

Kings Hall Country Club: "We have seen this beautiful area, once like a village green, turned into an eyesore …"

They complained to Sonia Whitaker, who reported this untidy site to Bromley Council. She also mentioned the pile of rubble so close to a children's playground. The Council served an enforcement order on the owner to tidy up the whole site, clear all the rubbish, cut the grass and level and clear the buildings, if they are beyond repair. A private surveyor has been asked to report to the Council.

The owner has lost his appeal against Bromley Council. If he does not choose to appeal to the Crown Court, he will have a further four weeks in which to comply with the enforcement order. The Council is prepared to go to court if necessary to get the site cleared. The grass is cut now and the pile of rubble is being cleared. Tom Papworth says: It's about time for action on the clubhouse!
