Duncan Borrowman from Chelsfield & Pratts Bottom Liberal Democrats has written to London Mayor Ken Livingstone calling on him to thrash out the issues with the rail companies that are preventing local residents from benefitting from Oyster card. This follows the announcement of the Mayor's 2006 fares package.. In his letter, Mr Borrowman says: Dear Mr Livingstone, I have read with astonishment your 2006 fares package announcement today. Yet again you have demonstrated that you are "Zone 1 Ken" and not a Mayor for all of London. As a commuter from Chelsfield I have had to suffer over the past couple of years the threatened slashing of my train service by the Strategic Rail Authority under the original Integrated Kent Franchise proposals. This was followed recently by the announcement that the ticket office will have it's opening hours slashed - which is particularly bad news for women who feel unsafe on unstaffed stations. Now to cap it all, your fares policy discriminates against those of us who are served by train companies that refuse to accept Oyster cards. Please sit down with the train operating companies and thrash out the issues that are preventing all Londoners from benefiting from Oyster cards. Yours sincerely, Duncan Borrowman Chelsfield & Pratts Bottom Liberal Democrats
