Does the Council have a strategy?

The decision by Bromley's Tory Leader to cancel a key Council meeting has been described as "astonishing" by Liberal Democrat Leader Cllr David McBride.

The Council Leader, who is also the Portfolio Holder for the key Strategy and Communications post, cancelled his meeting on 29th June because there wasn't enough business to discuss. The next meeting is now in the middle of September.

Commenting on the decision, Cllr David McBride said, "This is an astonishing decision by the Council Leader. Less than six weeks in to a new year at the Council the person who is responsible for the Council's strategic direction cancels a meeting, saying that he has nothing to discuss or to decide. I assume from this that the Tories have run out of ideas when it comes to running the Council. It certainly explains why some services are in the dire state they are."
