Plans by Bromley's penny pinching Conservative Council to close the popular Dorset Road Infant School in Mottingham have taken a major set back.

Pupils, parents and teachers alike were delighted when the Schools Organisation Committee voted 2-2 on the proposal by Bromley's Conservative Council to close Dorset Road Infant School in Mottingham. As a result the school has a reprieve and the proposal will now go to independent arbitration.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Denise Payton said; "Lib Dem councillors will continue to support pupils, parents and teachers in their fight to be saved from the Tory axe."
