Copers Cope Road Crossing Petition

Beckenham Lib Dems are campaigning for a safe crossing on Copers Cope Rd by New Beckenham Station.

Copers Cope Road is a notorious rat run, plagued by speeding and anti-social motoring.  There is not a single pedestrian crossing on this road despite it servicing a busy mainline train station, a bus route and nearby Worsley Bridge School.   The junction by Park Road is particularly busy with pedestrians needing to cross for New Beckenham Station and to cross from the station and bus stop to walk to Worsley Bridge School.   Local people find crossing at this junction dangerous. So dangerous that some families drive to school as they feel the walk is too unsafe.  Bromley Councils response to install a refuge not big enough for a buggy is not adequate. A proper pedestrian crossing is needed, that gives pedestrians right of way and requires traffic go slow down.

We demand that the Council urgently implement a safe pedestrian crossing on Copers Cope Road near New Beckenham station. Please show your support below.
